Music Theatre and Acting Core
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
At The Collective, auditions are a tool for discovery—not judgment. They help our team understand each student’s strengths and potential so we can cast roles that support their artistic growth.
Casting decisions are made collaboratively by the Artistic Director, Director of Education, Stage Director, and (for MT Core) the Music Director, with a focus on each student's development and the overall artistic vision of the production.
We often use double or triple casting, or assign multiple students to the same role, to create more learning opportunities and meet the needs of the show.
Casting is not about being the “best”—it’s about finding where each student can thrive.
All students interested in participating in Music Theatre Core and/or Acting Core are required to submit audition videos as part of their registration application. Audition requirements may vary each semester and will be based on the specific productions and programming for that term.
Please note that audition videos will be used only for casting purposes and will be shared exclusively with Collective staff. Videos do not need to be professional quality—this process is simply a way for us to get to know you better and help place you in an environment where you can artistically grow and thrive.
